Tonight they lit 10 000 candles or so at
Kungstradgarden, to support Cancerfonden, the Swedish Cancer Society. This is for the occasion of Breast Cancer Awereness Month which is October.
Ma este 10 000 gyertyát gyújtottak a
Kungstradgardenben, (kb. a svéd Rákellenes Liga) támogatására, a Mellrák Tudatosság Hónapja alkalmából, amely pedig október.
It's great that people want to help and contribute to beat cancer - it should be natural so.
Nagyszerű, hogy az emberek segíteni akarnak, és hozzájárulni a rák legyőzéséhez - ennek természetesnek kellene lennie.
However, I do have some reservations when a non-profit cancer research organization is sponsored by a VERY much profit-oriented pharmaceutical company... which is in this case, Pfizer. Just doesn't make any freaking sense for me: why would a company that has the purpose of selling more and more drugs to cancer patients, support cancer research - which should aim for NO cancer???
Nekem azonban van némi fenntartásom, amikor egy non-profit rákkutató társaságot egy IGENCSAK profit-orientált gyógyszergyár szponzorál... amely ezesetben a Pfizer. Egyszerűen sehogy sem találom értelmét: egy olyan vállalat, amelyiknek az a célja, hogy minél több gyógyszert adjon el rákbetegeknek, vajon miért támogatná a rákkutatást - aminek az lenne a célja, hogy NE létezzen rák??
Ten thousand or so, and 35.-SEK a piece goes to cancer research. The Cancerfonden has the target of more than 400M SEK per year. I wonder where does all that money go...
Körülbelül tízezer, és darabonként 35.-SEK megy rákkutatási célokra. A Cancerfonden évi több mint 400 millió koronát tűzött ki. Kíváncsi lennék, hová megy az a pénz.
I wonder what do they research, when they already know that
"in Sweden, 70 percent of all cancer cases are caused by known lifestyle factors", according to the information on their
website. Nutrition, smoking, sun, etc.
Kíváncsi vagyok továbbá, hogy mit kutatnak, amikor már tudják, hogy "Svédországban az összes rákmegbetegedés 70%-át ismert életviteli tényezők okozzák", a weboldalukon található információ szerint.
To find out what is healthy food and that tobacco kills, shouldn't cost 400 000 000 SEK per year...
Arra rájönni, hogy mi számít egészséges ennivalónak, és hogy a dohányzás öl, nem kellene évi 400 000 000 svéd koronába kerülnie... (kb. 11 milliárd forint)
Anyway, I shouldn't spoil the spirit of well-intentioned civilians wanting to help cancer patients - as a cancer survivor myself, I highly appreciate their efforts!
Na jó, nem kellene elrontanom a jószándékú polgárok hajlandóságát a rákbetegek segítésére - mivel én is átéltem ezt a betegséget, nagyrabecsülöm a szándékukat!
