An impromptu walk on Strandvägen

(Rögtönzött séta a Strandvägenen)

On Tuesday early afternoon, I was in Östermalm when the sun was slightly out, so I decided to walk back to Sergels torg via one of my favorite walks, Strandvägen, along the water. People keep asking me: what to do when they come to visit Stockholm - this is definitely one thing I would suggest.

A winter Saturday evening

February 20, Saturday, 7:30pm, Drottningsgatan, one of the busiest streets of Stockholm... (no, I was not waiting till people disappeared from my camera's sight)

Well, maybe the weather explains it:
Nos, az időjárás talán magyarázattal szolgál:

I still suppose this is the time when one should go to a hot concert, dancing or such to keep warm - no? No, sorry, this is now already lent time, but the scene here was nothing different in the past weeks when other places of the world were celebrating carnival...

Erik Strandh memorial concert at Stampen

Is it appropriate to say that one had a great fun at a memorial concert? Because I did, just as all the attendees at the packed Stampen, the famous jazz-blues establishment in Gamla stan this afternoon. A few hours (4?) long blues jam session, as a tribute to Erik Strandh pianist who died last Saturday in a heart attack, just after a concert in his hometown Helsingborg with his band Our Thing, at the age of 60.

As I am not too familiar with the blues scene (and not with the music scene in Stockholm in general),I didn't know Erik Strandh; one of my friends, guitarist Thierry Laprevote invited me, who played with him at that last gig...

One of the last concerts of Eric Strandh:
Erik Strandh egyik legutolsó bulija:

This memorial concert was an excellent jam session (hosted by Brian Kramer); countless musicians came to say goodbye to their friend who is now in some other world, but I am sure that all the good vibes from the gig got through to the late pianist and he could hear the music.

Some of the photos I took (I was kneeling on a bar chair for about two hours, so that I could see what was going on...)

Anders Nystedt,  Ivan Jezek,  Williams Caroline, Daniel Ramsten, Blue Cargo, Martin Sörbom, Olle Sjöstedt, Emil Lindroth, Micael Öberg,  Brian Kramer, Steve Wadidiz Morris, Miiko Melody,  Jon Ben Berger,  Thierry Laprevote, Marcelo Nunez, Mats Qwarfordt, Fanny Holm Sickenga, Calle Pettersson, Christer Wesström - and many others / és még sokan mások

And some music:

The future of Swedish football

It was long ago that in the afternoons we would play football after school and I did quite well as a goalkeeper (did you know this?)

Today I hardly know anything about this sport (we are talking about association football - hence the word soccer, as I just found it out, and not American football)

I know there is Zlatan here in Sweden, and Hammerby and AIK in Stockholm and what colors they have.

I was walking back from shopping with my oranges and stuff, by the Alvsjö Mässan (Stockholm International Fair) when I met a bunch of boys, running up and down the path, in -4 Celsius. I spoke a bit with their trainer and he said they didn't have any possibilities to train in such a weather, that's why the location. They are so enthusiastic and determined that nothing matters, they want to keep up with their training, in whatever ways they can. Fantastic to see the intention and the activity of these young boys!

And they were so happy to hear that I wanted to take a photo of them and publish it in my blog! So here you are, presenting the proud junior team of AIK Alvsjö:
