I don't know how it is here in Sweden, but in Hungary pigs (especially young ones) are traditional symbols for New Year, believed to bring good luck.

New year's piglet
After Cow Parade, now there is Pig Parade in Stockholm: they put a lot of pigs in shop windows. This one is from a jewellery shop:
