Smile, it's Spring!

Mosolyogj, tavasz van! 

Well, well... Greetings from Hungary! I felt I desperately needed some break from gorgeous Sweden... It's beautiful but it's way too cold for me, in every sense of the word.
Hát, hát... Üdv Magyarországról! Úgy éreztem, rettentően nagy szükségem volt egy kis szünetre a csodaszép Svédországból... Gyönyörű, csak nekem túlságosan hideg, a szó minden értelmében.

In the meantime, I was already in Vienna for a few weeks - oh, I so love to be back in Europe!
Közben voltam már Bécsben  is néhány hétig - ó, annyira imádok újra itt lenni, Európában!

And while right now here at home we can hardly wait for the spring and complain that it is coming way too late and we are still freezing, this is a typical "spring" in Stockholm, normal April weather:

Testing the sound of Stenbrott

Stenbrott, hangpróba

Oh yes, spring seems to be already here (but I have learnt not to put away my winter jackets till Valborg, end of April...)

Ó igen, úgy tűnik, már itt a tavasz (bár azt már megtanultam, hogy nem rakjam el a télikabátot a Valpurgisz-éjig...)

A little winter feel, if you are still up to it; I had a short excursion to Stenbrott (which is a small lake) in Stenhamra village of Viking Land, and the acoustics of this magical place were so fantastic that I had to quickly try it. Enjoy!

Egy kis téli érzés, ha még belefér; rövid kiránduálst tettem a Stenbrotthoz (ami egy kis tó) Stenhamra faluban a Vikingföldön, és olyan csodálatos az akusztikája ennek a másikus helynek, hogy gyorsan ki kellett próbálnom. Szeressétek!

Bus trip to Björkvik - 1

Buszkirándulás Björkvikbe

It was such a gorgeous, sunny Sunday, although cold and also windy at times.

Micsoda szépséges, napos vasárnap - bár kissé hideg, és néha szeles.

Originally, I thought I would go out to the Archipelago ang get some sea breeze, but instead I decided to take a shorter trip only and discover Viking Land a bit more.

Eredetileg arra gondoltam, hogy kimennék az Archipelagora, ehelyett egy rövidebb kirándulás mellett döntöttem, hogy Vikingföldet kissé jobban felfedezzem.

So now I went all the way to the farthest tip of Färingsö island, to Björkvik. By the way, in Sweden there are 57 settlements with this name... you can identify this one by that it belongs to Ekerö municipality.

El is mentem Färingsö szigetének legtávolabbi csúcsához, Björkvikbe. Mellesleg 57 darab ilyen nevű település van Svédországban... Ezt a szóbanforgót arról lehet beazonosítani, hogy Ekerö önkormányzatához tartozik. 

It's a nice trip if you want to see more of the Stockholm area than just the city. Take the blue bus 176 from Brommaplan to the end station Stenhamra Solsidan, then change to the red 317. That one doesn't have a busy schedule to say the least, but if you have no luck with catching a connection, you can walk one or two (or more...) stops, instead of waiting.

Kellemes kirándulás, ha Stockholm környékéből is akarsz látni valamit, nemcsak a városból. Brommaplantól a kék 176-os busszal el kell menni a Stenhamra Solsidan végállomásig, ott átszállni a piros 317-esre. Aminek enyhén szólva nincs valami zsúfolt menetrendje, de ha pont nincs szerencséd a csatlakozással, akkor inkább sétálj egy, két (vagy talán több) megállót, ahelyett, hogy ácsorognál!

I got off at the end destination, and the 15 minutes turning time was too short for me to go down to the lake and enjoy it - the next one was in 2 hours (yes two, it's Sunday), which gave me perfectly enough time to have a stroll along the small peninsula.

A végállomáson szálltam le, de a 15 perces fordulóidő nekem túl rövid volt arra, hogy lemenjek a tóhoz, és kiélvezzem - a következő busz 2 óra múlva (igen, kettő, vasárnap van), ami tökéletesen elegendő időt biztosított arra, hogy járjak egyet a kis félszigeten.

Took a moment to have a sip of a hot barley drink from my thermos, get a little tan on my face and to appreciate all the wonderful moments life has been giving to me.

Eltöltöttem egy kis időt azzal, hogy igyak egy pici forró árpaitalt a termoszomból, szerezzek egy kis pírt az arcomra, és hálás legyek mindazért a sok csodás pillanatért, amit az élettől kapok.

Abandoned - 1

Elhagyatva

Yesterday I went to Ekerö Centrum to pick up a box of barley, and as it was snowing beautifully, I decided to skip a couple of bus stops and take another walk instead than where I normally go. The 1 hour 20 minutes extra I spent was definitely worth it: not only got my exercise, fresh air and discovered a route I have been meaning to try for ever since I am out here in Viking Land, but I bumped into a few surprising sights - and when I did hop on the bus, there was my friend Maluni, so we had a little chat.   

Tegnap Ekerö Centrumba mentem egy doboz árpáért, és mivel gyönyörűen havazott, úgy döntöttem, hogy kihagyok egy pár buszmegállót, és egy másik úton megyek, mint egyébként szoktam. Az 1 óra 20 perces kitérő határozottan megérte: nemcsak mozogtam egy kicsit és friss levegőt szívtam, plusz felfedeztem egy utat, amit már azóta ki akartam próbálni, amióta itt vagyok Vikingföldön, hanem néhány meglepő látváníben is részem lehetett - és amikor végülis felszálltam a buszra, pont ott ült Maluni barátnőm, úgyhogy egy picit eltrécseltünk.

13th of December - I stepped on Swedish soil exactly 6 years ago on this day... (More about this: My Sweden Anniversary)

December 13-a - pontosan 6 éve, ezen a napon léptem svéd földre...

And it's Lucia day, one of the most significant dates of the year for Swedes. Let's see a bit later if I catch some girls/boys, dressed in white, with candles and singing. I'll probably have a fika with friends.

És ma van Luca-nap, a svédek egyik legjelentősebb dátuma. Később meglátjuk, hogy sikerül-e elkapnom fehérbe öltözött, gyertyás, éneklő lányokat-fiúkat. Jómagam lehet, hogy barátokkal ünnepelek egy kicsit.

Tomten är här - Santa is here

Itt a Mikulás

No, he is really not. Kids in my country Hungary have an unfair advantage this time of the year, compared to their Swedish fellows (or Americans, English one and most of the other places in the world...): in Hungary and in Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic, Mikulás aka. Santa Claus comes on the 6th of December, on the feast day of Saint Nicholas. This night the "good" children get some goodies, but of course the "bad" ones also have their sweets. This way, December has a double occasion for the kids to celebrate; the Christmas presents are brought by the Little Jesus.
Nos, nem igazán. A magyar gyerekek az év ezen időszakában előnyben vannak svéd társaikhoz képest (és a világ majdnem minden más országában élő gyerekekhez képest): Magyarországon (illetve Szlovákiában, Lengyelországban és Csehországban) a Mikulás (vagy Télapó) december 6-án jön, Szent Miklós nevenapján. Ezen az éjszakán a "jó" gyerekek finomságokat kapnak, de persze a "rosszak" is megkapják a maguk édességét. Így aztán decemberben a gyerekek kétszer is ünnepelhetnek; a karácsonyi ajándékokat pedig ugyebár a Jézuska hozza. 

So, here in Stockholm no-one knows that Tomten (aka. Santa Claus) is right now in Central-Europe, filling the polished boots that were put out in the windows. They think here that Santa is preparing full blast for Christmas, which is of course not true, but let's leave them in this belief.

Így aztán itt Stockholmban senki sem tudja, hogy a Mikulás most éppen Közép-Európában töltögeti meg az ablakokba kirakott, kipucolt csizmácskákat. Itt azt hiszik, hogy nagyban készülődik a karácsonyra, ami persze nem igaz, de hagyjuk meg őket ebben a hitükben!

As in every December, the Christmas decoration of the upscale warehouse NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) attracts young and old alike, making it a family program to go and see it.
Mint minden decemberben, az előkelő NK áruház (Nordiska Kompaniet) karácsonyi kirakata kicsiket-nagyokat egyaránt vonz, valóságos családi program, hogy meg kell nézni.













Well, the old fellow really needs to work that potbelly down (you will see his outfit on the next shot), so he goes sporty. And taking care of the environment. When he is not fast enough on the bike, the Silent Night sounds awful...
Hát, az öreg pasasnak igencsak le kell dolgoznia azt a pocakot (a következő képen meglátjátok majd, milyen cuccba öltözött), úgyhogy sportosra veszi a figurát. És környezetbarátra. Amikor nem elég gyorsan teker, a Csendes éj rettentően hangzik...
