Longer days

I caught this one accidentally: walking in Gamla Stan, I didn't even think that I could still see some beauty remaining after the sunset, for I got used to that the Sun would go to sleep earlier than 3pm... And in the last weeks,  when it stayed up a bit later, it was mostly hiding behind clouds...

Ezt véletlenül kaptam el: a Gamla Stanban sétálva nem gondoltam arra, hogy még valamit elkapok a napnyugta utáni szépségből, mert hozzászoktam, hogy a Nap elmegy aludni már 3 előtt... Az elmúlt hetekben pedig, amikor már egy kicsit tovább is fennmaradt, leginkább elbújt a felhők mögé...

So this one was at 16:43, which gives us the approximate time of the sunset for 29 January.

Nos, ez 16:43-kor volt, ami nagyjából megadja nekünk a napnyugta idejét, január 29-re.  

UPDATE:
This was yesterday, on 31 January, at 16:42, so now we know.
Ez tegnap volt, 16:24-kor, tehát most már tudjuk.

Gott Nytt Ar! Happy New Year!

Watched the Midnight fireworks from Slussen (more exactly: Katarinavägen).

Az éjféli tüzijátékot a Slussenről  (pontosabban: Katarinavägenről) néztem.

This time Slussen was sealed off from traffic and at the gates people had to go through a light security check ("Do you have fireworks with you?")

Ezalkalommal lezárták a Slussent, és a népnek egy könnyed biztonsági ellenőrzésen kellett átesni a kapuknál: ("Van nálad petárda?")

The band didn't lock me there to stay for more than 5 minutes, but I did admire that they were playing and singing live in the cold.
A zenekar nem volt képes engem 5 percnél tovább ott tartani, de csodáltam azt, hogy ebben a hidegben valóban élőben játszottak és énekeltek.

My little camera can't really handle fireworks, not even night pictures, so that's all you get for now:

I was not too much impressed by the fireworks itself, I have seen much more spectacular one in a small Portugal village for instance, 20 years ago or so, when I was there for a folk dance festival with the Bartók Dance Ensemble, not to mention the August 20 shows in Budapest...

Maga a tüzijáték nem tett rám igazán nagy benyomást: sokkal látványosabbakban is volt már részem, például egy kis portugál faluban kb. 20 éve, amikor egy néptáncfesztiválon voltam ott a Bartókkal, nem beszélve a budapesti augusztus 20-i csodákról...

But Stockholm is gorgeous anyway!
De Stockholm mindenesetre álomszép!

Post-Halloween post

Sunday night (1st of November) I took a walk just around the house, was on the phone with someone for 1.5 hours... As I haven't checked out yet the nearby church, this was a perfect time. And I discovered that it even had a cemetery - with full of candles of course.
Vasárnap éjszaka (november elsején) sétáltam egyet a ház körül, másfél órát beszéltem valakivel telefonon... Mivel még nem néztem meg a közeli templomot, ez tökéletes alkalom volt. Felfedeztem, hogy még temetője is van - természetesen gyertyákkal tele.

This is the Brännkyrka kyrka (Burned Church Church) - not a typo, for some reason this is how it is called, double. It is originated in the end of 12th century (did I understand it right from the description? Swedish people please help me with translation) and was burned down and rebuilt several times through the ages. Got its name from a fire before 1425, because it appears first in a source from that year.
Ez az Égett templom templom - nem elírás, valami miatt így hívják, duplán. A XII. századból ered (jól értettem a leírásból? Svédül tudók, javítsatok ki!), és az idők során többször leégett, újjáépítették. A nevét egy 1425 előtti tűzvészről kapta, mert először ekkor bukkan fel egy forrásban.

I just found out that they regularly have concerts, so I better check that out :-)
Most tudtam meg, hogy rendszeresen tartanak koncerteket, jó lesz utánanéznem :-)

World March for Peace and Non-Violence at Sergels Torg

The World March for Peace and Non-Violence, for which I am one of the first endorsers from Hungary, arrived to Stockholm today and they had a rich program, including visiting the Parliament.
A Világ Körüli Menet a békéért és az Erőszakmentességért, amelynek egyik első magyarországi támogatója vagyok, ma Stockholmba érkezett, és gazdag programjuk volt: többek között meglátogatták a svéd parlamentet is.

I only participated in the evening program and took a few photos - when I was not performing, I was rather busy with dancing or talking with people. In the cold, dancing to the hot music was an obvious choice, and I got a great dance partner - can't wait to get the pictures! :-)))
Jómagam csak az esti rendezvényen vettem részt, és lőttem pár fotót - amikor éppen nem én léptem fel, akkor meglehetősen elfoglalt voltam azzal, hogy táncoltam, és beszélgettem az emberekkel. A hidegben a forró ritmusokra ropott tánc egyértelmű választás volt, ráadásul volt egy jó partnerem is - alig várom, hogy megkapjam a képeket! :-)))











There could be much said about the evening and this event at all (and I have told a few words here), but now it's very late, have to go to bed and get up early for the press conference about the march.
Sokat lehetne beszélni az estről meg egyáltalán erről a rendezvényről (és ezen a fenti linken már ejtettem is róla néhány szót), de most rettentő késő van, és le kell feküdnöm, hogy korán felkelhessek holnap a sajtótájékoztatóra.

And by the way, I wonder how many media representative will be there, for I couldn't find ANYTHING about it in the Swedish media, except for TilliT and Nordic Africa News and a few sites of private persons or participating associations (okay, didn't watch tv nor listened to radio), although I know that a lot of papers, new sites etc were contacted...
Mellesleg kíváncsi vagyok, hogy hány médiaképviselő lesz ott, mert nem találtam erről az egészről SEMMIT a svéd médiában, kivéve a TilliT-et, Nordic Africa News-t és egy-két magánszemély illetve támogató szervezet weboldalát (oké, nem néztem tévét, és nem hallgattam rádiót). Pedig tudom, hogy rengeteg újságot és híroldalt, stb megkerestek...
